nOir Jewelry for L.A.M.B Collection
January 31, 2012
nOir jewelry designer, Leeora Catalan has been accessorizing the Gwen Stefani’s L.A.M.B collections for two seasons now. So it only made sense for them to put their efforts together to create a collection solely for L.A.M.B. What came next was a bit surprise…Leeora kept Gwen’s rocker sense of style and brought in Indian touches to each jewelry piece! How cool is that? i’ve always adored Gwen’s style. It is so spot on, people want to see her mix of rocker and fashion.
The collection will be available at department stores and online at noirjewelry.com starting early February.

Holstee Manifesto
January 25, 2012
Life has been a bit crazy for me lately…(8 week old twins and a toddler:). Shall I say more. It’s always nice to have reminders about the things that are important. That is how I discovered this manifesto poster by Holstee. I eagerly looked up the company and fell in love their story and products. Two brothers, along with a business partner started the company without a business plan in mind but instead created a mantra “This is your LIFE”, which has been seen over 50,000,000 times!
Another meaningful product that caught my attention is Holstee’s Upcycled Wallet. Working with an NGO in India, Holstee came up with a ‘no two alike’ wallet made from recycled plastic bags and newspapers collected from the streets of Delhi.

Check out this video based upon the Manifesto. This video will be part of my new morning routine! Sometimes certain words are so encouraging. Life is all about that. Thank you HOLSTEE.

Micky London
January 18, 2012

Hi everyone! Richa here from Mala Handmade. Winter season gives me the chance to accessorize! It’s the perfect excuse to layer beautiful scarves, jewelry, and other accessories before they are buried under my giant puffer coat. Some of these accessories should no doubt come from Micky London.
Launched in September 2009 by Abba and Micky Manchanda, the sibling team sibling duo set out to offer a brand that brings sophisticated, sexy, unique assortments of fashion scarves, jewelry and item ready-to-wear pieces to its customers. They’ve had great success – log on to Anthropologie and Nordstromto find some of their designs! Their tie-dye endless scarves would be a great accent piece for weekend casual – I love the mix of colors. And some of their scarves are really unique – a mix of fabric and jewelry that can be looped around the neck for warmth with the jeweled end left out for a bold bit of sparkle. I can’t leave out their crystal shawls – I really love the delicate hint of Swarovski shine at the ends of the elegant length of fabric.

Super Sprowtz
October 3, 2011This is MUST read for those parents with tots that don’t like their veggies. Introducing the Super Sprowtz – really cute concept created by Radha Agrawal. Think “Sesame Street” of nutrition filled with a bunch of healthy veggie characters! Radha’s narration of each vegetable is meant to inspire children to get excited about nutrition and vegetables. I love that each Super Sprowtz character is given a special power turning them into a vegetable super hero:) What child wouldn’t enjoy that?
Meet Miki Mushroom, Zach Zucchini, Erica Egglant, Brian Broccoli, Colby Carrot, Oliver Onion, Gita Garlic, Samy Spinach, Suzy SweetPea, and Todd Tomato. So so so CUTE, right? I wish I can purchase these veggies as plush toys.

In reading about Radha’s background, the passion for educating nutritional lifestyle is quite evident. Before venturing in SuperSprowtz, she with twin sister Miki opened up SLICE, and organic pizzeria in New York. Miki opened a second SLICE location in the West Village and launched build your own ‘pizza kits‘ which are sold in selective supermarkets. I’m hoping my twins have the ‘super power’ minds of these twins!
Check out this adorable Super Sprowtz video (Beyonce’s version of loving veggies). Also stop by the site, SuperSprowtz.com. There’s tons of great stuff like, recipes, educational information, games, videos, and you can purchase the books there as well. You can also buy the Super Sprowtz collection at Amazon.com.

I have only been to India one time but I did bring back many clothes like the ones above. I just love the cool fabrics and the prints, very colorful.

Hi everyone, it’s Richa from Mala Handmade! I’ve finally stepped out of hibernation here in New York City where for the last week it’s been sunny and seventy degrees. The city has an energy that’s always noticeable this time of year: rather than rushing from one destination to the other to escape the bitter cold, people are lingering outside, people watching, and peacocking in new spring outfits. But there’s still a chill at night. Rather than carry a coat (I can’t stand the thought of wearing one now!) I love to wear shawls. I got a beautiful pashmina in India, but I’ve got my eye on the gorgeous creations of ShawLux. Designer Annyu Gyani works with artisans in India and Kashmir on her line that takes the traditional silk, cashmere, pashmina base of Indian shawls and reimagines them in contemporary colors and patterns. (Her handy reference page points out that pashmina comes from goats in the Himalayas, which means the $5 versions on the street aren’t of course real!)
I am in love with the “Bead It” shawl in hot pink with turquoise beads. I love how the gorgeous warm base color is complemented by the cool turquoise and simple motif: it’s funky and elegant at the same time. “Once Burnt” has a quilted look with autumn colors that would look cozy for fall (it would be cute as a throw, too)! The cotton and cashmere squares are darling, too. “Bohemama”, a cotton and metallic scarf, is gorgeous! A rich madras plaid with delicate fringe and subtle shine are lovely and perfect for a pretty vibe. Are you all like me and into the drapey shawl look, or do you swear by your trench coat or fail safe cardigan? Right now I’m smitten with these pretty designs!
P.S – Last month, ShawLux became available at select Nordstrom stores nationwide!
