Who Inspires India’s Leading Designers?

February 2, 2010

Oh My Goodness, I love this find for two reasons. One – it involves India’s leading designers and two – ridiculously gorgeous illustrations by Cecilia Carstedt (a swedish fashion illustrator with a big client list).

Well, there is one more reason and that is because the meaning behind these images are striking. These designers may be inspiring to all of us but their passion and incredible work is also inspired by someone else. It is kind of like ‘pay it forward’ – aspire and be inspired. Vogue India features the latest muse of JJ Vallaya, Tarun Tahiliani, Abraham&Thakore, Sabyasachi Mukherjee, Rohit Bal, Rajesh Pratap Singh, Anamika Khanna, Gaurav Gupta, Savio Jon, Manish Arora, Atsu Sekhose, Manish Malhotra, Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla, Ritu Kumar, Suneet Verma, and Varun and Sardana.

I enjoyed reading each and every page!!!!

Louis Vuitton Jewelry Designer Inspired By Far East

February 1, 2010

This gorgeous piece called L’Ame du Voyage has been circulating the world wide web for quite some time now, but I thought I would re-post it because its just too beautiful to pass up. And for those who have already seen it, I am sure your eyes will light up once again.

Louis Vuitton’s new jewelry is designed by Lorenz Bäumer, who studied engineer before settling in Paris and started a very successful private jewelry salon.

L’Ame du Voyage means The Soul of the Trip. The six piece collection is inspired by India and the Far East. The detail work is incredible and delicate with lots and lots of bold colored precious stones.

Relations Between Russia And India

January 19, 2010

And we are not talking politics here. I’m talking about fusing the two and meeting halfway to create Olia, a jewelry collection combining stones, healing practice reiki, and sacred meanings. Designer, Olia is from Soviet Union and had trained to become a reiki practitioner. She uses this spiritual practice by designing hand made pieces that imply deep meaning and are shared by many cultures.  Here are some BollyInstyle favorites…

I love the lucky elephanthow it dangles from the trunk to its tail…so cute!
