Henna Styled Invitations

April 8, 2009

What a colorful and simple, yet modern design. These wedding invitations remind me of a cool indian print. I like how the designer, Brooke Brisbois shows a “peek” of each design.  This makes you anticipate the actual invitation as well as the event itself.

Bengali Heritage on the Catwalk

April 3, 2009

I typically don’t wear silk sarees. However, this one worn by Raima Sen at the Kolkata Fashion Week is quite stunning. It’s elegant and classy without looking old. What fascinating is that the saree was created by local weavers! The work on the saree is called ‘Kantha’, which is typically sourced out of West Bengal.
